I don't blame her. I did not have a windshield on my Honda and told myself that "real men went without". Well I guess I lost whatever manliness I might have had, because the only time I take it off my King is to clean it!
I have a little over 3,600 mile on my '07 Ultra and 5'th gear is gettiing alot quieter. I may have been one of the first to use a Techlusion TFI box on a '07 and it works well but it took some minor adjustment to get right. Running a SE A/C and Supertrapp slip-ons and the bike pulls strong.
Good advice, shop around you can only get what you go for. Let them know that you are ready and willing for the right deal.

Concerning your 2nd question: I wouldn't pay anything above MSRP plus tax. Shop around at other dealers @ 6% sales tax the total is 18,385.70 OTD Max. Also ask for (shop) for discounts on parts, service, etc. .02
FWIW I paid $19,100 out the door for my '07 RK classic. I don't know if electronic cruise control is standard or not but mine has it. I'm located in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The dealer here always posts out the door price. I've talked to people that come from out of state to buy here because of the price. Personally I don't know if its that great a price or not. I do know other dealers post lower prices but its not an out the door price.
My RK also has the noise in 5th gear. I have about 500 miles on it now and its getting quieter. I'm also careful not to lug the engine and that seems to help. I really enjoy the bike esp the f.i. My last couple Harleys have been carb so the f.i. has taken some getting used since you don't have to mess with the choke.
Coming from a Heritage Custom to a RK you will be riding a heavier bike so that takes some getting used to.
Good luck! Remember the shopping is a lot of fun, take your time and enjoy the experience.
I want to thank everybody for there feedback. With the suggestions I was able to get a better deal, not great but I think it is pretty good. I got an out the door price of $19660.00 with a $500.00 gift certificate. Additionally, they agreed to let me put $3600.00 on my Harley card so I can get the Harley bucks. I hope that this helps anybody else getting ready to buy a new Harley.
I also talked to two mechanics and asked about mapping problems and the 6 speed. They claimed they had no problems with the mapping and have seen nothing from HD about it. On the 6 speed the only problem they new about was a lag between 5th and 6th where you need to increase the RPM's. I will have my own opinions tomorrow when I pick it up. Again thanks for the suggestions and comments.
