Default Suction Cup Pillion

I'm looking hard at a FLHRP, and was wondering if anyone has used the suction cup seats? The wife doesn't ride so it'll live in one of the bags along with a spare helmet. Just wondering...

Would you want to ride on a seat that was held on by suction cups? I sure as hell wouldn't. Sounds kinda dangerous to me.

I don't see any problem with the suction cup mount. They probably do more for protecting the paint on the fender than they do for passenger comfort.
What are your plans for foot pegs?

Been using one for 4 years on my chopper with no complaints from wifey or any safety issues. They stick rerally well and you have to pull like he!! to get them off. The weight on them will keep them attached with no movement at all.

I use it and it sticks on just fine. been on 100 plus mile rides with the gf on the back and it never slip. I have a sporty too and I love to gun it everynow and then and she still stays put.
HOWEVER: its uncomfortable for long rides. (even though i added memory foam to mine and re-upholstered it)
and if you plan on always leaving it on your ride. then just buy a passenger seat that bolts in that works with your ride. I solo allot and like the solo look and design so I'm always taking off the seat every now and then

The pillion seat that I ordered from C&C Seats to go with my Solo seat attaches with suction cups as well as a thumb screw that goes in the bolt hole in the fender where you bolt down the rear of your two-up touring seat. I would think that the combination of the suction cups and the thumb screw make it unlikely that the seat is going to come off while riding.

Lol...that's funny right there. I should convince my father in law to get one on his bike, I will even wax up the fender for him.

We're allowed to own more than one seat. By all means use a solo when out on your own, but if you like someone well enough to take them for a ride, then for heaven's sake give them a proper comfortable safe seat, bolted down as God intended, not held on by a wing and a prayer!

Takes me less than 30 seconds to take my pillion off. Not that I have ever been on the back of a bike but if I were I sure would want a real seat.
