I have the directions for the Dresser Duals in front of me and they say (as they should) to use the gaskets supplied (step 16). The 2 gaskets were in the bag with the mounting HW and fasteners.
It's not recommended to reuse exhaust gaskets. It's a recipe for leaks.
Regular HD gaskets are good enough but if you prefer the SE ones, so be it.

Can't remember if the gaskets came with my Dresser Duals or not but I went with the SE ones anyway, were not to pricey and worked good.

My True Duals came with new gaskets, just put them on less than 60 days ago.

HT silicone??? I did not use this on mine and saw no resemblance of it on originals. How important is this? Don
t mean to hijack, but it could be good info for OP as well.
I was also wondering about the silicone. I didn't use it with the slip-ons

Yea use the high temp at the slip-on joint it will make a difference.
Pre fit the muffler and then put a bead inside the slip-on and smear a layer just behind where the joint will overlap. The two layers will join and make a good seal.
Was worth it to me anyway no leaks at all.

You want to ensure a good seal between the header & pipes b/c this joint is prone to leaking if not properly seated (positioning, tightness & stability). Using the high-temp (copper) silicone will ensure you don't get any of those annoying hissing leaks at the pipe/header connection which will also cause decel popping too.

High temp RTV is a must if the muffler goes inside the head pipe and if the muffler goes over the head pipe, it won't hurt. In both cases, it makes the installation easier and will prevent leaks.

Put new V&H Dresser Duals on my bike last week (ordered through Fuel Moto). No gaskets. The instructions recommended the part number for the SE gaskets or the part number for V&H gaskets. I went with SE gaskets. No problems so far.

I must be lucky. I didnt get any gaskets with mine. I just left the originals in there and that was 70,000 miles ago plus I've had them off several times.
