I picked up my new RK Classic from the dealer and drove it home. I noticed that the edge of the windshield is right in my line of sight and very annoying. Will the dealer exchange for a shorter shield, or will he want to charge me for a new one? Thought I'ld get some opinions before I contact him.
Corndog, I had the same problem with my 06 RK standard. Always trying to look over or around it. I got the HD smoked shorty. Perfect. Wind goes just over my head( I'm 5'11"). made all the difference in the world.
Dont get in to big of a hurry to change the windshield. You'll soon be replacing the seat because the stock seats are very uncomfortable. Then you be sitting in a different position and the windshield might be fine.
Sure, the dealer will be happy to replace it for you.
For FREE? ROTFLMAO....
You haven't spent much time in HD dealerships, have you? They don't even want to fix warranty items for free, much less things that just don't "suit" you, like windshield height, seat position, etc. You're on your way to learning why people say "HD" stands for "Hundred Dollars"--because that's what your spending every time you turn around.
Corndog, I was in the same boat that you are. I bought a lower windshield, then a few months later put a Mustang seat on which made me sit taller in the saddle. I then had to buy a taller windshield to stop the wind from buffeting my head. I went with the Menphis shades RK replacement. Long story short I should have just replaced the seat.

Very good advice, that was my situation exactly. After the seat change, everything is good.
