To get around the problem just click into neutral while you're rolling to a stop. It helps to have the bike rolling for some reason. It will pop right in.
I've got 10k on my 2010, and neutral is no problem now.
You are not used to it. I went from a 98 wide glide to a 10 flhx and had some problem finding neut. but now NO problem at all. I never got used to the heel toe shift but I found the if I heel shift to neut. its the easiest way for me. I put on one of the heel shifters thats in the book it swivels at a 45 degree angle gives me more room on the floor board to. You will be fine when you get used to it.

Really liking the radio. Handle great at low speeds.
Transmission is very "clunkey", but only 300 miles on it so far. Probably switch it to redline.
Really having trouble getting in to neutral. Shifter keeps going by it, both ways.
Have to "tap" it just right to hit it. Never happened with the FLHR.
Sound like a problem, adjustment or just break-in?
I might try the REDLINE tranny fluid, maybe it will help me shift into REVERSE! (just kidding) But one day I was trying to roll my bike back, and there was a slight incline. That was the day my wife learned that my $20,000+ bike has NO REVERSE?
Gotta Love Her...
Had the same problem with my 07 Fatboy and my 09 Street Glide. On both of them, the problem went away when I did the first transmission service and replaced the engine oil that comes in the transmission with a gear oil. On the 07 I used Mobile One 75w-140 GL-5 gear oil (because I had some left over from servicing the truck) and it worked great. On the 09 I used Redline v-twin trans oil and it worked great also.
I think the key is to use an actual gear oil in the trans.
My wifes 2010 SG Trike was like that. I changed the Tranny to Redline SPH and with a clutch adjustment everything was fine. It felt like her clutch was not disingageing when you pulled the lever against the grip. you could pull the clutch in and still couldn't walk it backwards. it felt like it was still pulling. when you started to release it, It felt like it started pulling as soon as the lever moved out. I adjusted it a couple of times before I got it right.
