Default New FLHX, neutral problem?

Picked up my new 2010 FLHX. Had a 97 FLHR.
Really liking the radio. Handle great at low speeds.
Transmission is very "clunkey", but only 300 miles on it so far. Probably switch it to redline.

Really having trouble getting in to neutral. Shifter keeps going by it, both ways.
Have to "tap" it just right to hit it. Never happened with the FLHR.
Sound like a problem, adjustment or just break-in?

Mine did that when I first got mine but stopped, I don't remember what the mileage was but I believe it was before the first 1k service

If you can do it yourself do a clutch adjustment and rule that out.

The Redline will likely help.

Mine did the same thing but got better with mileage. After 1000k miles and some Amsoil in the tranny, she is smooth as butter. No more trouble and much quieter.

It's a lil tricky.....give it some time for your foot to get "calabrated" to it.....
I hear it does get less sensitive with increased milage.
Sometimes (rare) but "sometimes" I still have difficulty catching it.....no biggie.

I bought a used 07 sg that had been sitting up for I think 7 mo. at the dealer. After about 1500 miles mine loosed right up with no adjustment or lub. change. I think just be patient.

Kroozeabout. just my .02 as the guys say.

Mine was the same way, your right on the money with beaking it in and going to the redline Pepto Bismo. Mine is just fine now.

Mine's doin the same thing. A little clunky on the shift change and hard to neutral. Only got about 600 miles on her so far. Sounds like it's nothing new. Will wait to see how it goes.
