I have BUB 7 slip-ons with stock head pipe on '09 RKC. Don't I have to install aftermarket headers to get rid of cat?
I keep reading info regarding cats on these threads. I don't know if I'm misinterpreting the info or what, but I thought I was told by the dealer when I bought the bike last year that there was a cat in each header coming off each cylinder. Then I see a picture of a cat a the junction of the two headpipes where they join just before the crossover pipe.
Where are the cats on my '09 vs 2010/2011 and why am I reading that cat removal's more of a pain in the **** for the later bikes?

The cat is in the collector right before the crossover pipe. Basically in the fatest part of the header.
Do yourself a favor and remove that cat. I went with V&H dresser duals and the heat reduction is amazing. The only complaint I had was the fitment of the right side muffler to the headpipe. All I did was take the slip on to a muffler shop and had them open it up a bit with their hydraulic machine.
