Can you cut down the Stock OEM Harley FLHTCU Antenna's BUT maintain the little rubber Tip and rubber housing ??If you have done this, can you share.... Pic's and How to....My FLHX was easy..Thanks
Never mind - I did it - way to easy..
You loose 5" - any more and the stock rubber tip will not mount back on..
too easy to buy a shortened Harley or J&M antenna.
If you shorten by cutting, the CB antenna...don't expect your CB to last
more than two transmissions.
FOR AM/FM ONLY!!! Just loosen the set screw on the bottom, remove the antenna, cut off desired amount and reattach.
Any cutting on the CB antenna will require adjusting the SWR to avoid burning up the trans/ceiver. As long as you NEVER push the 'talk' button you'd be ok. Shortening the CB antenna will certainly reduce your send/receive distance.
