But I still don't know if Craig Vetter made it for Harley Davidson. But I think that Elvis had one, lol. I wonder if it was in the parts catalogs from that era.

If you don't mind, I need a couple of pics of the backrest pad attached to it. I hope to fit a wrap around pad. I'll PM you my email.
I think that this trunk will look good with the bars around it and all the bars around and on top of my saddlebags.

Regards,
Pics of which backrest pad? The one that it supposed to go on yours? Mine? Or one that might work? Don't have a pic of yours. Do have a pic or two of mine. What might work, I'd shoot for the pad that goes on a newer Chopped TourPak. About the only thing you'll need to check is the contour on the rear of the backrest pad vs. the contour on the front of the TourPak.

I don't think you'd care for the OE pad that would have gone on yours. You'd likely want to modify it if you had one. So, might as well go for a newer one. I used one of the two I had because I was going to make the same kind of Pak for my girl. She opted out and went with a chopped Pak.

DB,

A couple of pics of yours would do. I don't want to have to drill more holes in my tour pack, and you already have something that works.

Thanks,

The backrest pad on yours wasn't like the wrap-around style we have today. It was flat, kind of like a wide but slimmed down version of a chopped pak pad.

Here's a couple pics of mine, the smaller one. (mine also had the rails)

Hope that helps at least a little.

I found mine on ebay, NOS for $350. Mounted it using the factory quick release bracket. The backrest that we already had on the bike worked perfect! Showed it to our dealer and was told it was a late 60's-early 70's HD accessory as noted in a previous post. I contacted Craig Vetter and he did not make these, they just happened to be around at the same time his fairings were being sold by Harley.
