I use my radio 100% of the time. I love music, and I love riding my Harley. They go hand in hand.

I just bought my Ultra and had the MP3 player installed. Bought a 1 Gig card and am still trying to load it all up. We (the wife and I) listen to tunes constantly and we chat on the intercom often during our rides. I ride sweep with our HOG group and am in CB communication with the leading road captain. So...we use the radio and its peripherals about 100 % of the time. My new Hogtune speakers are enroute and should be here later in the week. Music in the headset isn't as rich as through the speakers--even the stock speakers--but at highway speed I can't hear the speakers very well.

Mike,

I went from a Roadking to an EG Classic mostly for the stereo. I use it most of the time, and have added XM radio, and Hogtunes speakers.

Regards,

Bill

I installed xm on my Roadking. All custom made, 4 speakers, lots of volume. I ride with a half shell helmet and shortened windshield and can still hear clear audio at highway speeds. Like Ive said before, riding a Harley is great, but riding a Harley with tunes is even better.

Probably sometime in September - october.

I use the radio damn near 100%. Typical duty is as an amp for my Sirius reciever (XTR-7 model) unless I'm riding a heavily forested area with lots of trees overhanging the road, which blocks the signal. At those times I switch to FM or CD. My Sirius uses an input to the stock radio aux jack, since there are so many FM stations in my area that it makes a FM modulator useless.

My setup for tunage:
Stock Ultra radio
Hogtunes
Wide windscreen from Custom FLHT Windshields (http://www.customflhtwindshields.net/). The windshield extends over the speaker pods which decreases the sound being lost in the wind.
Ground Loop Isolator audio cable from the Sirius to the AUX (http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products...p?pkg=ULT-XMRD)
DS-1 Dash Shelf (http://www.eglidegoodies.com/id127.html)
I have my Garmin 2610 GPS and Sirius receiver mounted on top of the shelf in addition to a small leather windshield pouch.

I don't think I'd buy a Harley Satellite Radio setup even if it is offered. At well under $100 for a decent XM or Sirius they are easy to mount and if you have problems with the dealer radio I can just imagine the replacement cost (not to mention down time). Besides, you don't need handlebar controls for satellite. Siriusly.. er... seriously, how often do you switch stations on a satellite radio?

I am a 100%er. I also have a small MP3 player with 1GB of songs for long trips and such, but mostly I listen to the radio. And I use the headset, not speakers.

Too Late! I found the deal on the 02 and picked it up. It has the factory setup with cassette, but Christmas will render me an Ipod and Hogtunes.

Right now I listen to the radio all the time. I dont know why I didnt go this way on my 1st Harley!

I installed some J & M speakers. Good at lower speeds, but at higher speeds, still a bit tough to hear. I orderd some Hogtunes. I listen to radio most of the time but I put in a CD. Then for longer rides, I put my ipod on thru the aux input.
06 models come sock with XM capability and mp3 player rahter than one at a time CD player. I thought that was below acceptable, but it plays that one CD very nicely! I have ordered and received a Sony 5710 from Biketronics and will install soon.
