I know this sounds like a rediculous question, but I'm serious......
Was hanging out with some felloew bikers with Road Kings and Ultras. All bikes were from 2004 -2007.
I noticed that all those bikes were idling really rough, and my bike was idling like a counter-balanced engine with no vibration.
As crazy as this sounds, is it normal for a RK to idle really smooth?
Everybody was looking at my bike and wondering there was something wrong with theirs.
Just curious, is your bike injected or carbed? The injected bikes usaully have a higher idle, causing it to seem smoother. Have you had to change your engine mount yet? Mine broke, put the newer design in and the damn thing is a harder mount & caused my roadking to have a more noticable idle vibration. Anyway just a opinion. Good luck ,

I have a 2005 RK with fuel injection. I had the mounts inspected, and they're fine.
I also have a tach, so I can tell you that my idle is at a steady 1000 rpm's, which is normal.
Sounds good! My bike is a 06 carbureted & has 9k miles on it now. Prior to me changing the front engine mount @ about 5k , the bike (idle vibration) was much less than it is now. The redesigned mounts as I was saying, are, or seem to be much harder rubber compound. I have also changed the jetting oif my carb. and havent had it dynoed yet (My bad) Glad to hear your bike idles great. Also remember that your /my bike has a heat managment system on it. It drops that rear cylinder @ idle when hot, and @ differant stages of throttle position. ANyway, glad your idles so smoth, sometimes I wish mine idled smoother.....IN TIME! Actually.......Mine willl idle rougher due to big bore & big cams!!!!!!! I HOPE!!! Have a GREAT evening ,

same with mine. the new, mount makes it shake at idle which i personally love, its my girls 1500 pound vibrator, and folks that pull up next, recognize. but guess what? when i take off, shes smoother than silk.
