+1 ... I tried the J&M shorties and had significant loss of signal strength for both CB and std. antennas - despite what John says here on the forum. But the HD antennas do a great job!

I live in Nac-a-no-where so all those shorty, inside the fairing antennas are worthless to me.
On the other hand my Ford pickup can get several stations, maybe I should try that antenna. lol

I've got one of those rubber shorty's in my boat...That is right "in" not "on". I did not want to drill a hole in the hull to mount the antenna, so I dropped it behind the dash. It is at best even with the water and maybe a tad below the water line. I pick up stations 30-50 miles away here in the mountains.
