Thanks ICIBUY. Your bike looks great and I've just about made up my mind that mine will be coming off the day after I pick it up (tomorrow).

Took mine off my 08 SG, basically only helps if it falls over stationary not so much you lay it down. I have insurance so it didnt make much difference to so me on the damage front, dont exactly plan on laying it down anyway!

FWIW - crash bars aren't designed for moving accidents. They even have a sticker on em stating such......

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I've been riding for over 20 years on well over a dozen Harleys and not once has one fell over on me. Luck? probably. But I've removed the crash bar on every bike I've put togather simply because I just looks better. Hey, if this comes back and bitz me in the azz sometime, so be it...

Those bikes look nice without them. I have lowers on my bike, but now I am curious what it would look like without the bar.

I for one have a 2010 Street Glide and I'm converting my rear bag under supports to the crash bar conversion. I live and have to ride on some pretty nasty gravel roads. More often than not its like riding on marbles. I want the limited protection they potentially offer, both front and rear.

I had a buddy that bought a SG with all kinds of stuff from Fatbaggers in Sturgis last week. We went to the Stonehouse saloon and when leaving he dropped his bike on the gravel drive. He wasn't going but maybe 1-2mph but it rashed up the fairing and bags pretty bad(no crash bars). That just proved to me just how fragile the bodywork is on these bikes. For me(personal choice) I'm leaving mine on.
