I am going through a systematic troubleshoot of vibrations on my 09SG too, I recently talked with a service rep about just that. He says the rubber dampeners on the isloated drive sprocket at the rear wheel will act funny if the belt is too tight. For me I had the same problem with a loose belt and are still looking.
good luck.
FYI,
the book calls for 1/4" - 5/16" play with 10 pounds on force, which can easily be measured at the left side swing arm inpection window, hash marks are 1/8" apart.
Were you able to locate the source of your vibration?
Still working on it.
Next up, is the muffler mounts right under the saddle bag.
The left one is loose inside the rubber, the dealer said he will waranty an upgraded mounting bracket this weekend. The right side shows evidence of the slip on muffler bracket bar bottoming out the clearance to the saddle bag support bar. They will center the slip on bracket clearance. Should help. We'll see.
