Default Another 'New' seat

Well wish me luck, I have just removed my longtime partner seat(Mustang) for the umpteenth time and installed a used but excellent shape Corbin, riding to work (54miles) and trying it out. It is the classic solo with a touring pillion which if my other half has a say will go off to MCC to be refoamed softer. Main thing I am attempting to do is get lower yet still be comfortable in the saddle, the Mustang is a bit high for my long torso body.

The base rider solo is a bit firmer and more cupped than I am accustomed to yet not uncomfortable, the ride will decide.

Photos to follow if it works out.

Corbins are the best seat on your butt, but they are to hard and unforgiving on my bad back.

Talking Keep us updated...

I'm interested to hear your report.
Been looking at solo seats for a while now and have just about decided on the Corbin solo classic with heat. Gonna ad the small backrest for me, and gotta get a fender bib to hide the scuffs from the original seat. For 2 up, I'm getting the touring pillion, and just use the sissy bar behind it when she rides.
I've sat on a couple, but not ridden one.
I've got a 106 mile rt commute myself, and gonna be putting many weekend mile on when it starts cooling off. (put 450 miles doing the Dragon/Cherohala Skyway last Sunday)
I've talleyed it up on Corbins sight, and it's gonna run about $967 (plus shipping?)
That's a HUGE amount of dough for something that I've not spent any time on!!!
I'll wait on your results with great anticipation...

Well the first ride out may be the last, I am thinking to try one more hundred on it to verify but it lines up like this:

The crown of the seat edges as it pans from the back irritate the back of my legs, I am 6' 2" tall with a 32" inseam, 40" waist and 280# of dead weight, the seat actually felt good for the first 30-40 miles then the nubness set in at the point where my hip bones poke out off my butt. Seat is hard but not unmanageable, the passenger pillion is like a rock so I know the whining will start with the wife when she first sits down. It actually felt as tall or a little taller than my Mustang so I will probably drop back to the ol' standby one more time.

You got to give it more than a couple rides. I am about the same size as you and my Corbin dueltourer is by far the most comfortable ever. Even than the Mustang on which my tailbone would bounce off the plastic seat pan (too soft). Just my $0.02

From what I've read, it seems to take approx 2k miles to "break it in" to your ****. Don't know about a used on though... Sorry it isn't working for you, maybe a little more time.
Thanks for the info...

I am going to try a few more rides, may also call Corbin on if it needs to be re-foamed as it is used and see if they can soften the wife's spot as the seat does look good.

Perhaps you have already tried it, but many find the C&C seats to be great for what you are after. They are a bit softer than the Corbin's and can also be made with a gel insert for the rider and/or the passenger.

Just a thought!

I have a C & C and Mustang and love both, my brother has a Corbin and I can tell you with a harder seat like a Corbin you have to put miles on it to break it into your *** before it get comfortable

I have a 09 Ultra Classic. I purchased a Dual Touring seat from Corbin. It’s very firm I liked it, but my wife hated it. So I’m back to the stock one. I prefer a firmer seat it gives me more support for the long rides, but its way more important to make the wife happy. I noticed that the corbin sits you about an inch lower than the stock seat and also gives more leg room for the taller riders.
