Sunday I rode my bike to Tallahassee to start a new job. This morning I intended to take part in a poker run out of the local HD shop. As I was getting my things together in the parking lot of the hotel a guy stopped to talk about bikes. He was trailering his from California. Anyway I was in a hurry and distracted. I think I remember leaving my keys on the pillion to lock my bags before heading out. Got to the HD shop and realized I did not have my keys on my belt loop where they usually are. So I had to buy a cable lock to the tune of $75.45 and am having the wife send me a spare key to the bike. Another thing. Try taking a ride in Florida without getting wet. Sure are plenty of opportunities to clean your bike if you get to it while it is still wet......
I left my entire key ring on the saddle one day while at a car show. When I came back to the bike about three hours later, they were still there. I didn't freakin' believe it.
couldn't get a new key made (based on VIN#) while at the HD dealer?
They have to have the keys made from moco and sent to dealership. Said it could take 2 weeks but again, wife is sending me a spare. In the meantime I will have to depend on the lock I bought. It is mighty stout but priced higher here that online. I paid $69.25 plus tax and online it is $62.95. What's up with that?????

I guess there is the H-D MSRP and then the dealer's MSRP. My local dealer charges more than the Harley prices on many items in the store; additional dealer mark-up, or profit. When they offer 10% off, that gets me H-D retail. Woohoo.
