I've found anything Icon makes to be excellent quality.
I like the super-duty and pursuit gloves myself but have also used tarmacs.
+1
If you're worried about protection in a get-off, the best gloves are gauntlet style with plastic sliders in the palms like some Teknic styles. But really, if you're not fully geared up, they'd be kind of pointless.
ICON pursuit's are great for a short glove and a pretty good comprimise between mesh and gauntlet. Comferatable and provide decent protection, mine lasted about 30,000 miles before the palms completely wore out.
I wear a set of half finger leather gloves bought from a local leather/biker shop five or six years ago. H-D now sells the exact same gloves for a few bucks more. 2.5 weeks ago I got rear ended doing 45 by a car doing 65+ and took a good slide face down and my cheapo gloves saved me big time. ended up with a couple heat blisters on two finger tips from friction and a skuff on the wrist where the pavement wore through the leather at the wrist. Interesting that little things we wear can provide protection, like the wrist band on a cheapo watch and a vintage "one off" 79 H-D belt buckle (back when H-D wasn't watching their trade mark so closely). Both were ground down to nothing and saved me a whole bunch of skin.
FXRG year round. Same with the jacket. Even if it is 110 degrees, all of the equipment all of the time. No matter what. I may smell like sweat, but been down twice over the years and walked away each time not a scratch other than a few bruises.
I went down at freeway speeds and got up and walked away. FXRG is the chit, leather pants or chaps and always full fingered gloves helmet of course
I wear a pair like these that I picked up at the HD museum. (note: note this make, I just can't find a photo of the Harley ones). I may but a pair of the ones pictured, as I like this style.
I wear Deertour gloves during the summer. Full finger deerskin that are very flexible and comfortable. It's been in the upper 90's around here, with a heat index around 110, but I have found them pretty comfortable.
Same gloves and I agree. They offer lots of protection, provide plenty of dexterity, and are just fine even on hot/humid days.
