I didn't find one already installed on my '09 Ultra Classic.

Many dealers install them when they get the bike to keep the battery charged up. Then they say that they put it on as a courtesy for the customer. No, they did it for their needs.

But, they are not factory installed.

I agree 100%. They DO claim that they do it as a customer courtesy (I've been told that by the dealer) but when talking to a buddy of mine in their shop, he told me they do it to keep from having to put new bikes or their batteries in the shop to charge them. Might not look so good to have a bunch of new bikes on chargers in the shop.

Agree with most here, they are definately installed by the dealership, not the factory.

Need to check but I don't think my 09 came with one.

When I purchased the bike it was still in the box so they may not have installed one.

I can't recall ever buying one. My dealership must have been putting them on for years.

Same here, dealership said they installed them on all new bikes, not installed from the factory.
