I, too, am in the market to change out the stock bars on my FLTRU.
A couple of fellow riders have the same scooter - both went with Wild 1s. One did 515s and the other 517s.
I am likely going to do the 515s in black.
FWIW, just spoke with a tech at WO, and he told me no cable change is necessary with the 515s. Just have to re-route the clutch cable, removing it from that plastic ring on the left side of the speedo and going down below the bars, in a similar manner as the brake cable on the right.
Looked at the PYO 10" Monkeys. They look like a royal PITA to wire.
I put the CVO bars on my 2010 RG. Run the wires internally. I had the Heritage bars and I like these just as well.
I just picked mine up last thursday and have tried out the English countryside. It's twisty and fun... however getting parts here sucks, and the lack of Road Glides doesn't help with other options to look at.
here's my questions,
1. you stated that you ran the wires internally, Do i have to, or is it just better looking.
2. Did you have to replace/modify anything else for the switch to the CVO bars from stock? if i get them shipped i don't want to wait 4 more weeks for another little part
3. about how long did it take to accomplish this switch? just trying to plan out my time to work on it at night so i don't miss a day of riding.
