Ok just thinking outloud here because I really have no idea how this works.
Seems like there has been so many reports of oil problems lately, I sure dont remember this from yrs back and people have been building big motors for years. Makes me wonder if there is excess gas being dumped into the oil.
There is a guy in my chapter who is pushing over 120hp on his 07 ultra , things runs so hot it melted the plastic on the dip stick, but I have never heard him complain of thin oil or loss of pressure ..
Just a thought
1 of many on the forum, I was just wondering if there was a chance of any fuel going into the turned of cylinder, like i stated I have no idea how it works just seams to be alot of people having problems with the oiling thining lately... Al
I"m not a HD tech but I'm sure the injector to the rear cylinder is shut off in the cut-off mode. I still can't understand why people don't shut their bikes down & restart when caught in stop & go traffic. If I'm stuck at a light for a minute when it's 90+ I just shut it down & restart when the light changes, keeps me & the bike a lot cooler.
After a few restarts in stop and go traffic you will have a hard time getting the bike started again. When I have to stop, I plan on letting things cool for a bit. If there is anyway around the traffic holdup I go for it.
I was told by the service techs that the EITM ( engine idle temperature managment) does shut down the fuel injectors / system for the rear cylinder when activated. Why does it also smell funny when this happens?
