Default 07 breakdown!

Ok guys, how are your 07's holding up? My 07 ultra threw a pinion gear in the starter. 2000 miles on her. Might be done tomorrow, I hope.

The left muffler fell off of my 07 Ultra at 500 and change. Dealers fault though.

Noisy 5th gear ( so whats new), neutral and security lights come on when hot. Speaking of hot that baby burns my caboose it runs so hot. Gotta look into an oil cooler, new pipes and richen up the fuel. I was spoiled with the matric bikes I've had.

it's not the need for an oil cooler. The bike runs lean, the fuel mix needs to be richer.

Sleepneagle. Would I notice a significant change in how hot it gets? Do you know what the process is for adjusting the fuel mix? This is my first HD and first with FI, I know how to rejet a carb but I am at a loss for this. This bike runs so hot my lady wont ride on a hot day ( maybe thats not so bad....just kidding). I rented an 06 for two days this summer and the heat wasn't bad at all it was confortable. There is a significant difference between the 06 and 07's.

Bigger motor than a 06 so more heat, Im going with the vance and hines fuel pak, they already have it tested on 07's and have settings ready for the user and it was dyno tested and worked great, no maps, or laptop needed. just put in the listed values for your add ons, pipes, free breathing air cleaner and plug and play and no removing the 02 sensors like the PCIII. price is 203.00 on ebay dealers site.

My '07 Ultra has stalled once b4 it was fully up to speed. May not sound like a big deal but I don't think a fuel injected engine should stall on a summer morning.

Compared to my '05 Fat Boy the '07 Ultra is HOT. I believe in my case it's the routing of the pipes. The pipe on the left really gives my left inner thigh a good burn when I am not moving (traffic). Kuryakyn and RJS Originals make shields that mount just below the seat. They don't look too bad and I am told they work great.

Every harley motor requires a warm up of 5 minutes or so regardless of the season, more if winter and stored in non heated area. A cough is a sign of not being properly warmed engine. and the leaner the bike is tuned the worse it is.

With 700 new parts, these little nuisance problems don't surprise me one bit. They'll get these things worked out over time, just be glad the bikes have a two-year warranty. [&:]
