have an 07 streetglide that rides like a truck, installed progressive shocks which helped some, but the front end feels like it's gonna break off when i hit a pothole, or bump. it litterally has a clanging noise. someone told me you can change the length of the spring in the forks, and would solve the problem, what do you think ? jwbluebright@aol.com
I don't know if this will help , but I had the 2 lower outer faring bolts loosen up at 5,000 miles and when I hit a bump , I thought something was broken.
It was a really loud CLUNK even on smaller bumps.
These 2 screws are the ones (from the fuel tank side) just inside the fork legs , just above the pinch bolts.
I couldn't believe they could make that much difference , but they were loose and it fixed the noise.
They have blue locktite on them now.
Worth a check anyway..

the noise could also be the inner fairing mounts, I've replace all four so far and it made a clunking sound each time one broke, heavier fork oil may help as well.
