I was wanting to install a 2011 street glide seat on my 2008 street glide.I thought it would work because of six gallon tank but the local dealer told me only 09's and up because of new frame. The new catalog shows touring seats for 08 and up .What's your opinion before I spend the money?Thank you for your replies.
I would spend the money on a decent aftermarket seat. For me it was the SportTourer from C&C. Harley seats suck.
Concur with the above. Why would you replace a stock Harley seat with another...stock Harley seat? You owe it to yourself to look into Corbin, Mustang, Sundowner, basically any decent aftermarket seat that puts stock Harley seats to shame. Live a little!

The dealer is wrong.. It fits.. I was looking at a '10 and was going to keep my mustang solo for it..
I kept two (2008) seats off my other bike and they fit my '09 just fine.
I think the new 2011 Street Glide seat is worth a try. I've sat on a couple, but never road one yet.
But I am probaly going to check out the 2011 SVO Street Glide seat.
I wasn't a big fan of the looks of the 2010 CVO Street Glide seat.

Thanks for pointing that out, but they're not the stock seat you'll find on any Streetglide.
I believe that Sundowner Seats are considered "aftermarket" by HD.
At any rate, they have to be better than the horrific stock seat on the 2010 SG.
imho street glides are for Low profile seats -I had a sundowner on a 09 street glide and it almost made it look like an electraglide standard(didn't like the look). Not for me. Passenger pillon was jacked up in the air and ruined the looks of the "stripped down" back I prefer unless going long distance or cross country. The 2011 is deeper with a higher back for the rider but I still ordered the hd custom seat with inlay and custom stitching in solo only. When it comes in in a couple weeks I will post pics. To me, a street glide that is a wannabe ultra that's really a street glide is an expensive adventure. Just get the ultra in the first place like many before me have already said.
