I can't say I really notice a lag with the stock setup but I recently installed the TTS and the response improvement is noticeable.

Only thing I don't care for is the "looseness". Without the cable tension, the throttle just feels floppy to me. Response hasn't been a problem.

I ran a thread on this with mixed replies.

On my 98 wide glide and my Buell s2, as you turn the throttle the rpm increase........(with as little as a 1/16" or less turn).

The TBW , on my 09 RK has at least 1/4 inch of "nothing happening" slack as you turn the twist grip.

Dealer says no cure.........(it is a mechanical thing between the 2 gears in the control)

The response is great, especially after Reinhearts, SE filter and a remap...........(it was acceptable before)........but the "slack" is still there...........(just like a throttle cable that has stretched).

2 different things.....(I think).........response and free movement of the twist grip with no response from the engine............"slack".

The dealer says "you will get used to it.......as others have also said the same.

Just my $.002

I actually prefer the TBW. The slack works for me - makes holding a constant cruise easier. It certainly feels different, especially coming off cruise control.

I think it stinks! It feels spongy, it responds slower than cables, and if you twist too far it seems like it makes the bike "bog down" until the speed catches up with the throttle (in the meantime, you can SEE the needle on your gas gage move steadily towards the E). I have noticed that response is better when it is cooler outside.

I'm not impressed with the TBW at all! I was riding with a buddy today, he's got an '04 EG with a stock 88". His scoot is much peppier than my 96'er. I guess pipes are on my winter mods list.

the only issue I have and I think it relates to a setting not adjusted or tuned as good as it should be is.....

When your at a light and give it that unnecessary blip of the throttle before letting off the clutch I feel my motor chokes a bit.....other than that cant tell the diff
