Thinking real hard about buying a set of 13" take off shocks on ebay.Was wondering how hard it is to change them.I know you have to take the pressure off the rear end to remove bolts.But what do i need to due about the lines and fittings upon removal and re attaching.Found a nice set on flea bay for $ 78 free shipping.Sorry taking my 09' stock SG lowering shocks off.

I have a set of Rail Road tracks that I have to drive over pretty much on any ride I do and the stock shocks would bounce my *** 6" off the seat if I didn’t raise my *** off the seat. The Ultra shocks just glide over them now.
The 13" shocks are great... I tried many air ride systems and ended up going back to the stock 13". Much more comfortable. Yes, btw. get that back tire off the ground when changing. Good luck.

Thanks Texas FB have been playing with air pressure all summer and just cant find a good pressure.Had a 03' RK and never had issue i think i never changed air pressure once i took it home from dealer.

Changing shocks is easy. Jack the bike up so that the rear wheel is just touching the ground but the suspension is completely unloaded. Take the saddlebags off. There's a plastic (red, I think) fitting on the shock where the air line goes in. After you've let all the air out of the system, push down on that piece of plastic and pull the lines out. Then unbolt the shocks and remove them.
All that's left to do is jack the bike up so that the new shocks will bolt up, clean the threads on the shock bolts and tighten them up. Push the plastic fitting down and insert the air line. Pump the shocks up and make sure they're holding pressure. If they are, put the bags back on and take the bike off the jack.
Actually put a set of '10 RGC take-off's on my '09 RG this afternoon. Wanted to try the lower shocks. Shocks are easy to change. Just the two bolts and the air lines. Make sure you do one shock at a time w/the other one still attached. Didn't take me very long at all. Use a bit of loc-tite on the bolts when you put them back in.
