Since you don't want to lose too much money, not only sell your bike yourself but also buy a pre-owned bike with very low mileage. New bikes depreciate faster than pre-owned ones.
I bought my 09 Ultra ABS with 2,400 miles and a ton of add-ons and I paid roughly $4.5K less than what it would have cost me new with all the goodies and ESP.
