Default Having a problem with my ARC amp...

My amp has been installed for awhile with no problems. Then yesterday I started getting engine noise through the speakers. So I removed the fuse from the power lead on the amp. Then when I got home I checked all conections thinking maybe something came loose. It plays fine when the bike is not running....when started the noise begins. Then if I move the amp and it touched the metal of the radio all kinds of static noise comes from the speakers. Just not sure what started this problem and how to fix it. Need help.....

Watching this thread with interest. I also have arc setup and get lots of static sometimes after washing the bike, even when the radio is off! Not sure if its the radio, the switches, speakers, or amp problem.

I could be mistaken but the engine noise and static is a ground issue. Did you ground on the battery or the frame? Make sure your ground is good and clean with no rust or corrosion. Next check that something else is not shorting to metal. Something may have rubbed.

Could it be a bad spark plug wire allowing the ignition spark to feed-back through the radio?

Back to update my findings...I called Wayne from ARC Sunday morning and he told me a few things to check. I found out the RCA plugs installed in the back of my HD stock radio had somehow come loose. When connected the ARC amp the way it was before the install of the RCA plugs all played fine.
