Question Saddlebag support or guards

I’m new to the bagger world and would like some input. I recently purchase a 2010 Electra Glide Classic but do like some of the features on the Street Glide. I am about to install low profile shocks and would like to get away from the rails surrounding the saddlebags. My question is would it be better to go saddlebag support kit (like the SG) or go with the saddlebag guard kit. Has anyone had experience where the guard has been protective?

I swapped out my saddlebag supports for the guards so that I could get the guard bags and bottle holder while also providing some extra protection for the bags just in case the bike did go down on it's side. If you decide to go with just the supports, I have my old ones sitting around that I'd be willing to part with for a reasonable $.

My 2010 Road Glide Custom has the guards installed .... the bike fell over on the gravel driveway one day, the guards did their job.

I have a 2011 street glide, and I have been thinking about getting some guards like Kuten did. I would possibly be interested in just trading you the supports for the guards.

pm me if you'd like.

I removed the rails from my ultra and put the guards on instead. Very happy with the look and some protection at least.
