I am getting ready to buy the Zippers Max Flow Stage 1 kit. I want to put pipes on it and was thinking of going with the carriage works twisters or maybe the bassanis. The question I have is :
With doing the Stage 1, what happens if I do just the mufflers with this and "not the tuner"? I am thinking I can get by w/o the tuner but want to make sure that if I do this I won't be wasting my time. I would love to do the head pipes but don't think I can do that with the amount I got right now.
Unless anyone can point me in a different direction and why?
I would go with the herd on this one, and go with what is tried tested and proven.
It's up to you to figure out what will work and what will not.
I have no idea of what a "Zippers stage 1" is, other than maybe an aircleaner,
as you never said?
I've never heard of carriage works twisters... either...
BTW you never said what year your bike is...
That would help...
If you allow more flow with an air cleaner and muffler upgrade you will need to add more fuel with a tuner or a ecm flash from your dealer. Otherwise, you burn too lean and hole your pistons.
PC-V will be the economical way to go,w/the A/C and your choice of slip-ons, plus a new headpipe, as I think you should probably ditch that "catalytic converter in the head pipe" if you can, as that will create much un-needed heat for you, and no doubt you will regret if later. JMO.
