Default tour pack fittment ????

I have a 05 flhtpi and would like to put a tour pack on it. Is there a difference in the way a pre 98 and a 98 - 08 tour pack mounts or could i make an older pack work on a newer (98 - 08) bracket? I have allready changed out the saddle bag lids so they would not be a problem.

Mine Tour Pac is a '96 and it fit on the bar of my '05 FLHPI perfect. Had to raise it an inch to clear the lids tho, mine are still stock.

Default FLHTPI Tour pack mounting

We HAD a 2006 FLHTPI that we just totaled (we are ok) :-)....however, when we put the tour pack on - we couldn't open the saddle bags. The Police saddle bags open differently. A good friend of ours (machinist) customized three aluminum brackets to raise the pack just enough to get the bags open, especially if your tour pack as speakers. I am selling them for $150....our friend spent more hours than I can imagine to make these for me....I couldn't pay him enough for the time he spend. If interested give my husband a call - Frank 951-543-2692. They not only work...they look pretty cool too!

Your biggest issue is going to be your saddlebags. Because the police bags hinge outward, they wont clear a normally mounted tourpak. Not sure how high up you would have to raise the tourpak for the lids on your bags to open.

Bag hardware may need longer bolts with stand off bushings to allow bags to open.

The tour paks are pretty much all the same, the most you should have to do is drill a couple holes. Amazing how many people read half a post " I have already changed out the saddlebag lids".
