I have a 05 police bike. The saddle bags are hinged and open differently than the regular one. My question is can I put detatchable tour pack on it and still open my bags or will it hit the bottom of the pack?
You'll need to add about 3/4" - 1" spacers; I used hard rubber automotive bushings sandwiched between thin stainless steel washers of the same dia. as the bushings. Others have used other spacers to achieve the same result--raise the tour pak to provide clearance for the lids to open. Easy to do.
Assuming you'll be using an HD detachable rack, you'll need four longer screws than what HD provides in the kit; the fifth screw attaches to the center of the U-tube which mounts against the tour pak so no need for it to be longer.
