I'm 6'2", 34" inseam, size 13 boots and ride a CVO Ultra and absolutely loved the Hammock seat on it, so when I bought a second bike (RK standard) it only took one ride for me to buy a hammock seat for it too. The hammock seat is the most comfortable seat for me I have ever owned. It actually moved me back away from the bars and put my feet exactly where I needed them on the boards. The seat sits you a little taller too. The only drawbacks are that that extra room for the driver is taken away from the passenger. My 5'8" 135 lb daughter is perfectly comfortable on the passenger seat but my wife whom has gained a few pounds with age felt a little cramped when I used a backrest. That leads to the second drawback of the seat. It gives very little lower back support if you do not use a rider backrest. This seat IMO is designed to be used with a backrest. Our answer: Bought the wife a trike and now we each ride our own. Expensive answer but she loves the trike and the independence. Now we have plenty of space for all our stuff on the 5 or 6 thousand mile 2 week runs we do every year. Seriously though, the seat is great and I have done a bunch of 400-600 mile days on it without even once having a sore tail. Can't say that about any other seat I've owned and I have had a couple of Sundowners, Mustang wide touring, stock HD touring and a Corbin touring solo. The Hammock is the ONE for me.

6' 3" / 230 pounds / 34" inseam here....I added the floorboard extenders (moved the floorboards out 1") to my bike and found they made a noticeable improvement. IMO, every time I've sat on a UC with the bat wing fairing I've always felt that I was "cramped" on the bike. I test rode a Road Glide and there's just something about the sharknose fairing that made me feel that I was riding a bigger bike. I know the frame is the same, but visually, I just felt more comfortable on the RG. Though the Street Glide is an awesome looking bike I'd really think twice about buying it as a 2-up touring bike for the wife and you. I've heard that from a couple friends who did the same and wish they had just bought the full touring bike instead. Their complaints dealt mainly with the factory suspension...and they both eventually upgraded to fully adjustable touring shocks.
6'4" and three bills. RKC. Had the dealer lower the rear an 1" and swap me the Street Glide seat for the RKC seat at purchase (no charge on the seat). Changed out the stock bars for 12.5" mini apes. And, one of the biggest difference makers was putting on the extended floorboards. The parts photo's do not make this look like a huge difference, but trust me it makes a big change. With the lower rear, low seat and taller bars, you feel like you are sitting in the bike, not on it. Nice combo that works well for me. Good luck.
Start with the seat. Some guys like to sit low, but my hips always bothered me if they're lower than my knees. I have a Tallboy seat that was modified by Russell, and it fits me perfectly.
The next problem was the bars. I moved back 2" with the seat, so now the bars were too far away. Wild 1 575's worked for me. I also have the extended shifters and brake pedals for my size 14 boots.
I also got the George Anderson Tour Pak relocator to give the wife back some of the room that was taken away by the seat.
im 6'6" @ 280lbs (no belly) I did the same.. except for my seat I went with a mustang solo w backrest and passenger pillion had it reworked by mean city cycles...I can ride all day without any soreness or numbness
Also have the 360 deg peg mount on the front bars, and the floorboards are spaced out
the next time you're at the dealership looking at bikes, be sure to sit on a roadglide. the windshield is much further away from you and the roadglide feels like it has much more room. not nearly as cramped. i ride an 08 streetglide and i'm also 6'4" tall with long legs. i did install 09 touring rear shocks to regain some suspension that harley took away when they designed the streetglide. the set up i have now works quite well for me. give the roadglide a chance, sit on it, and you may find that it suits you better. if i'd studied it more, it's probably what i would have bought rather than the batwing.
6'5", and a lean 300# with a 35" inseam....... I'm on a FLHTP with a hammock seat ( if you want a bike for a tall guy go ride a police bike with the standard seat too )
The bike is basically an E-glide now..... Hammock seat is awesome, Kutyakyn (sp?) makes a set of brackets that move the boards up an inch and out an inch. add a +2" shift lever from Walters Workshop and it's awesome around town..... add the 2" offset highway pegs and it's good for a 1500 mile weekend..... more to come next year as I purchased the bike after the school year began ( I teach)
I'm currently inbetween bikes and am back in the market. Had an 08 Ultra Classic that I really liked however as a taller rider, ended up feeling cramped. The "boys" felt like they were sitting on the gas tank. Put a TallBoy seat on and it felt like it lowered me too much. Sold the bike when we bought a new house but am regretting that decision. We're also new "empty nesters" having sent our one and only off to college this fall. Now momma and I want to get back out on the road.
If I go with another Ultra Classic, I would consider an Ultimate Seat as an option. However I'm quite interested in the Street Glide. I'm going to test drive both to see which feels better but I'd sure like to hear some input from you guys over 6 feet. I'm 6'4", 230 lbs with a 34 inseam.
So whatta ya think guys?
Thanks in advance!
Steve
What I have found, and many that I ride with can validate, is that both a seat and handlebar replacement can make all the difference in the world. From a seat perspective, check out Russell Day-Long seats. They custom make them to your height, weight, inseam, and your preferred seating style. With the handlebars, well -- multiple options that need input from others.
I'm 6'3" and my son is 6'5" He has no problem putting 26,000 on his 06 Street Bob touring the US. I ride a Dyna Super Glide and stay with the mid controls as my son does on his Dyna. I also have an Ultra Classic. We both find it comfortable with no changes.
