Aha. Kinda what I'd thought, but wanted to see if there was any other good pickup point. My beast would be running the wiring under the tank - had a time making a good run for the GPS.

I would put them on over the HD grips but from what I understand HD changed the heated grip in 2010 so they are now a good product as well. They have a very nice factory look to them and you can use any grip you want. I have had the heat demon grips on my 4 wheeler for the last 2 years with no problems. They get used every time it snows an I have to plow.
I think I'll go for the battery if I find a set I can afford. On the lighting, I have two 30amp spots, the Halo headlight, eight running lights, taillight, and six plate lights. Doubt I can crowd that more than it already is!
Tied them in on the headlight circuit. On my last bike they were tied in there as well. No issues. Could run my driving lamps, headlight, saddlebag spoilers, and acces. plug all at the same time.
