I had a set of harley heated grips on the 08' and made the pitiful mistake of leaving them on the bike when I traded it in.
Truth be told, I miss them. I've seen the heat demons at the dealership and the parts guy says they are popular and work well. I said that I didn't think that they could be used with the throttle by wire and he claimed that they can be.
I verified that they CAN be used but want to hear from anyone who has done it and what they think of them in general. How was the install. the HD heated grips where an royal PITA to intall.
We were going to put them in the wife's 09 Street Glide but the HD dealer said they would not fit as she has the HD reduced reach touring bars and they get to narrow at the end, found out from heat demon that they now have a fix for that. Any way every dealer around us who sells heat demons prefers them over the HD heated grips. The dealers have been charging for 1.25 hours labor to do the install.
Just curious; where do they tie in for power? Seems that the headlight circuit is the only high amp one up there, and mine is kinda maxed out with all my lights.
following this thread
interested in installing them on my 2010 ultraclassic. from what i hear they are much better than hd.. heated handgrips are the way to go
Ya know, I hear NOTHING but good things on these.....I think I'm gonna go for it.....if I do, then i'll be sure to post some pictures on the install in the hopes that it will help everyone else.
still looking for pointers from anyone who's already installed them.

Please update us when you get them on and anyone else that has them or puts them on.
I don't have a touring bike or throttle-by-wire, but I did install the heat demons on my deuce. I love them. The hardest part about the installation was pulling the wires through the bars. I picked up my power right at the battery, under the seat and used an in-line fuse.
