Congrats. I have the same feelings as you do for mine. While I was home on r&r leave from Iraq, I got to put 700 miles on my new baby. I still smile from ear to ear when I think about riding her. You can immagine how I feel after going from a sportster to a limited. I was looking into adding the saddlebag guards to mine, ya know just in case she decides to take a nap one day. I know it has the rear guards already, but dont want the bags hittin anything, there is an instant few hundred in damage if it does. Anyway pm me if you would be interested in letting the ones you just removed go to a new home for a small fee. Thanks man and enjoy your bike like I am going to enjoy mine as soon as I get out of the damn sandbox.

Congratulations on the new cycle.I've found that this is a good time of the year to buy, just enough time to get a new bike set up the way you want it so it's ready to go hard when the weather breaks in Spring.

Yup, I know the feeling. I rented an Ultra a couple weeks ago down in the smokies and certainly enjoyed all extras that an Ultra or a Classic has to offer. But because I ride one-up I'll stick with "The Look" of the Street Glide.

When I go on road trips, I hook up the H-D solo rack and strap on the Saddlemen Rack bag. It's a good alternative (very functional) to the pizza box, if you're riding solo. It doesn't look as good as a tour-pak, but who cares, it's comin' off when I get home anyway.

Minor issue that maybe someone can help with --

Last week, on my way to and a mile from the dealer, filled the tank, started 'er up again and suddenly I'm in that "limp home" mode -- Probably took 100 yards to get to 20MPH and it topped out just above that. Sure, I did the stuff I knew from the '08 -- "Reboot" the system with the 4-on, 4-off thing, etc. No go. Doesn't seem to be a feature on the newer model anyway.

What seemed like forever later (probably 3 minutes of doing 20 in a 45 zone and then trying to make a left across a busy street while accelerating slightly slower than trying to walk the distance), parked at the dealer. Sat at the dealer for 10 or 15 minutes and the service guy comes out and all is wonderful. Took it in back and "pulled 2 codes" from it (that I don't have) and mentioned this was the first '11 that he heard of having this issue.

Anyway -- Noticed in the manual (on the bike at the moment, can't quote it) the *symptom* ("Power Management Mode" or whatever they call it), but after that, it says absolutely nothing. No "Take it to the dealer ASAP" -- No "shut the engine down and wait 10 minutes" -- No nothing. Nothing in the troubleshooting section either. Just the fact that it can happen.

I mean, is it something I should be concerned about? Just happened the one time, etc. I suppose I'll remind them of the issue at the 1k (in a few days I'm sure - Can't believe it took this long to log a lousy 1,000 miles - Even at this time of year). And I suppose I'll ask them for those codes (or can I access those myself...? Can't remember...).

Any suggestions or even anecdotal information would be great.

For now all you can do is keep an accurate record of when and where it happens - day, date, time, place.

I am curious myself about these codes. I have never heard of this problem before.

Nice looking ride. Good decision. Let us know how she rolls after a few thousand.

Not much as far as wrenching skillzz but dug this up:

Power Management Mode related info:

P 1511 code: Throttle actuator control power management failure of throttle control actuator

P 2135 code: Throttle position sensor correlation error

Turn ignition on until engine light goes off, then turn ignition off again. repeat this 5 times and it resets the memory
