Does anyone have a Hammock Rider Touring seat? I would like to know if this is worth the investment? The wife will always start repositioning herself trying to get a more comfortable position after a hour or so of riding. I a 2007 SG and the seat has been modified by Mean City and the ride is perfect for me but needs to be better for her tush. These seats appear to have a good deal of cushion and space for the rider to sit on. If anyone has other suggestions I am open for anything.
Before you invest in another seat, why not have her try a gel pack. If that makes the diff for her, have the seat mod'd again (remove some foam, install gel pack). Since the ride is perfect for you... I'm just sayin'.
The passenger portion of the seat was also modified and we have a gel pack to go over it. You know I didn't check whether it is available for the 2007 I just saw someone had mention that the Hammock is a good riding seat.
Did you have Mean City do anything to the passenger pillion of your current seat? I ALWAYS reccomend C&C Seats www.ccseats.com but, seats or so subjective because everyones *** is diffrent. My OL has never complained about my Sport Tour seat from them but she has never been on the bike longer than about 5 hours either. Check out their site & give Chuck a call & explain what you have & your problem... If they can help great, if not, he'll be the first one to tell you.
I had one and wasn't impressed. After a 2500 miles over 7 days my rear end was hatin it. I had better luck last year (same trip) using the airhawk pad on a stock seat.
Yes, Mean City did put memory foam in the passage portion but there is only so much you can do when the passenger portion small. Thanks for the advice!
Had a friend who went from a stock to a mustang seat and loved it. I have an 08 ultra and ordered a hammock seat. Hopefully it will be betyet than stock. If your ride is rough, try looking at air in back shocks. An 07 touring should have the air shocks. We (my wife and I) run 24 lbs and it helps. Good luck.
