Does anyone use Amsoil 10w40 in thier primary case and if so how do you like it? Any suggestions on something better?
I use Amsoil in motor and trans. In my opinion it is a waste of money,unless money is no object, to use it in the primary. We are talking about a chain and clutch. I have been using Walmart SynTech 20-50 oil in the primary. Works fine for me. Kinda like whiskey. It all does what it is supposed to do.
What part of the performance do you like better with the Redline?
The bike shifts smoother (like butter), can find Neutral every time.
There is still the clunk going from Neutral to 1st, if you don't wait about 5-10 seconds after pulling in the clutch lever. But if you do wait, there is no clunk at all - I wasn't even sure I had it in 1st gear the first time I did this!
I put in whatever is cheapest at walmart (10w40 dino). It's a breeze to change it with the oil when its on the lift. so its always fresh and doesn't cost much

We are lucky in Australia as we have a fantastic Australian made and owned oil company by the name of Penrite. I've used many brands of oils over the years but none come close to Penrite.
Their fully synthetic Penrite MC-4ST motorcycle oils are 100% PAO Ester group IV and V, unlike a lot of other companies that claim their oils are fully synthetic when in reality they are not.
For my Harley Davidson Breakout, I use their MC-4ST V Twin 20W-50 for the engine, their MC-4ST 10W-40 for the primary case, and their Fully Synthetic 100% PAO, Ester Pro Gear 80w-140 gear oil for the transmission.
Between oil changes I never see any fuzz on the drain plugs. It shows me how good these oil are. I also never need to add oil to the engine between changes.
I have found, after you find an oil combination that works best for you, much better to stick with one oil company, as it saves a lot of headaches.
