Question 2010 Ultra upgrade

I love my new 2010 Ultra! But it does run HOT! So I'm thinking of changing the pipes to V&H Pro-pipe Chrome 2into1, a SE A/C, and a set of cams. The tuner who I talked to recommends the Direct Link for tuning and I think for me this is the right solution ( I'm not really into tweaking). On a otherwise stock bike what cams would you guys suggest? I'm trying to research as much as possible but I would appreciate your feed back and suggestions. I'd like to do more, but I'm on a limited budget.

By the way, thanks to all who use and contibute to this forum, it really helps folks like me who are less informed.

Gonna depend on your riding style mostly on the cam decision. Alot of owners will swear by Woods either the 6 or 7 and alot of others are enjoying the se255 in an otherwise stock 96''. Gonna be doing your homework on this one.

+1 on depending on your riding style. I have the SE 255's, PCV w/ AT, SE A/C & Rinehart TD's. The 255's gives the 96" touring bike the low end grunt it really needs. That said, they gave me a taste & now I want more... Like a BB with some head work & cam change better suited for the higher CR.

I have a few riding buddies who run Direct Link and they work great , and if your tuner recommends Direct Link..go that route.

And for cams , If you don't mind to downshift every now and then and want some more oomph from 2500rpm to the redline, look at Woods Tw6-6 which is one of many good "bolt-in" cams.

And talking about cams here can be very serious sometimes.

Default Cams and Riding style

Well, I usually ride in the 2500-3000 rpm range and want it to pull to at least 5000 rpms without really dropping off. I ride about 50% two-up. I want passing power when I need it, and want to eliminate the freakin pinging, but really don't ride real hard. The woods tw6-6 and tw-555 look real good according to the fuel-moto website and andrews ?? cams could be a good choice as well. I guess I'm just looking for your "real world" experiences on a cam choice. I don't expect to make any other changes (well at least for now!). Would the SE 255's work for this as well? Thanks for your inputs.

I have a 2010 Ultra with a 103" Big Bore kit, stock cam. I just installed the V&H Dresser Duals (stayed with the stock mufflers for now) and PC-V from Fuel Moto. The CAT heat is gone!!! The difference in sound and power even in 6th gear is great. No Pinging, plenty of response even at 70 MPH for passing. I was on the interstate last night doing 70 MPH, Semi in the right lane starting acting squarely, I opened it up and by the time I got to the front of the semi I was doing 90 and never down shifted.

I am now a firm believer in the PC-V and the Fuel Moto maps.

By the way I did the install my self in less than 2.5 hours and it would have been shorter except the right stock muffler did not want to go onto the new head pipe. Had to do some BFH coaxing.

Ride safe

How much have 255s helped in the 2000 to 2500 range? Next spring I plan to get rid of the cat on my Limited with a set of Power Duels and a set of Supertrapp Fatshots. While I'm at it, I was thinking about having a set of 255s installed. It would be nice to have some low end torque, too much shifting in the mountions where I live.

I noticed a big improvement with the 255s at the 2500 range, it seems that is the spot they really kick in, they work great on the highway, when you need to pass this bike pulls reals nice now. I am very happy with them
