Default stalling while EITMS active?

Saturday I was in really bad stop-n-go traffic for about 20 minutes.
An accident had occurred where a 3 and a 2 lane highway merged, so all 5 lanes were being shuffled down the same exit ramp.
Took 20 minutes to go maybe 1/2 mile.

The temp was about 65 degrees out - but the EITMS would kick in every
time the bike stopped rolling (which was about every 10 feet) and at one point it flat out stalled while I was waiting for the next wave of movement...

This is my FLHTK with almost 10K on it.

I've had the EITMS kick in before - usually in the middle of summer on an extremely hot day while waiting for a long light.

Does it just kick in as a rider comfort issue - or does it also mean that the temp of the rear cylinder is getting to the danger zone?

Since EITMS is optional to have enabled or not - I'm assuming that it is purely for rider comfort and disabling it would not have harmed the engine during the stop-n-go (more stop than go) - or would it?

Jim

My 07 would stall quite often when EITMS would kick in. Dealer flashed the ECM with a new download early this year & no more stalling but, EITMS has not kicked in all summer either!

What year is your bike? Seems odd it would even kick in on a 65 Degree day.

2010 FLHTK, 17K miles. I enabled mine before I went to Sturgis and now I just returned from a week in Utah.
Bike got real hot quite a few times and it kicks in quite often, but never has stalled out.

I was in a parade last Saturday and mine stalled also. Think I'm going to take it to the dealer to have it checked out.

Default Seems that I need to give the throttle a little 'blip'

just before I engage the clutch just to get both cylinders firing. Otherwise I will stall trying to start of with only one firing. That seems to solve my problem anyway.
