So...I have had a 2010 CVO Softail Convertible for a year now and just cant take it any more. I need to get back on a Touring bike, don't get me wrong it was a blast to ride but it was a ton of money for a Softail.
I missed having a bigger bike for the comfort on many levels. The wind just beats the hell out of you on that bike for some reason, I have had other softails and none tore you up like this one.
I go and close tomorrow and I think the bike will be delivered Wed or Thurs.
I will get some photos up as soon as it arrives. We are running out of riding season very fast here so I will only change windshield for now.
I felt the same way when I went from a touring bike to a Wideglide. It was fun for a year but I missed having a touring bike.I traded for a new Ultra Classic and all is well now.
I did the same thing. I bought a new Road King Classic in 2008 and then bought a new FXCW in 2009 and sold the King. The FXCW was an awesome bike and the funnest bike I have ever ridden but it sucked to take trips on it. I have since sold the FXCW and bought a 201 FLTRX. I plan on laying down some serious miles next summer touring Europe.
