I just saw a picture of a water cooled Sportster in MotorCyclist. They claimed it was because of lower emissions. How can a few degrees affect emissions that much???
Water cooling is fine for a VRod! Big twins are a part of Americana that some water cooled, tupperware, Goldwing like crap will never be able to duplicate. I had a water cooled metric V-twin and their is just no comparision. Heat is part of the experience. Kinda like a real woman vs. a blow up doll.
Hopefully, when it DOES happen, that can accomplish it with a minimum of visual change. No big assed ugly radiator, and no major visual changes to the jugs. Yea. right....like THAT is gonna happen
We (Canada) signed the Kyoto accord to reduce emissions. NOW they find out that if they STOPPED (Stopped, not modified) ALL transit (cars, trucks, bikes, buses, trains, aircraft) they could not meet the accord. What a bunch of morons. I know the US did not sign, but I think the EPA is still barking up the wrong tree going after bikes and other small engines.
The 07's 96" motor already has water jackets cast into them, so you can bet a radiator is not to far off in the future, as to emissions and the EPA its a bunch of BS to go after bikes, when goverment tests show that one full size jet plane on take off puts out more emissions than 100,000 cars will produce in their lifetime.
