Default Replacing stock FLHTK heated grips - options?

Anyone swap out the stock grips on theil Ultra Limited? I find these grips too skinny and would like to find a set of TBW heated grips that are fatter, and that are an easy swap for the originals.

Anyone?

I wanted a larger dia grip myself but couldn't find anything I liked or was a larger OD. A friend with a CVO warned me away from the grips with metal (chrome) in the grips. He said the metal strips get a lot hotter than the rubber protion. So I just went with the leather lace on. Gives me the larger grip I wanted and still lets the heat through.

That is very good advice. I wanted thicker handgrips as well - think I'll try the leather option.

Which ones did you choose?

I just ran across these as well... might go this route as I liked the old HD cushion grip design.

Actually I used some from JC Whitney. They are the weather proof suede ones. They are about 1/8" thick and have a close pattern for the laces. I have used the lever covers of this kind before and like they way they fit and last. Also put the lever covers on my flhtk as I like the grip and the insulation from heat and cold. When you first put them on they have that suede look, but after a little time and wear from gripping they look like smoothe leather. They also hold up to rain and washings well.

Yes, I replaced my Harley heated Grips with HeatDemons. Heat Demons heat from inside the handle bar so, you can use whatever grips you like. Additionally, Heat Demons get HOT .... if you want them to.

I installed grip puppys. they work good, actually look pretty good have good fit and feel, no adversity to the heat , and no prob if they get wet. . Good. cheap. and easy . I got the large. just trimmed as desired after install for the heat setting dial .

I did just replace my factory grips on my 2014 Ultra limited! Replaced them with the heated Harley Slipstreams and love them! Have not noticed that the metal gets hotter.

Mine give up the ghost on my 07 Ultra. Got more yrs than I thought I would out of them. Going to change handlebars now also. Might try these grips out.
