The 2010 is a demo (400 miles ) it is a classic no extras no cd-lowers-intercom- one color - but new warrantee, not a bad deal at all. The 1998 is as new as a penny has no cd-lowers-intercom has a cassette. Touring mufflers and is lower then the FLH of today. Looking at both it is easy to see how much HD has taken away from the FLH and added plastic and MORE MONEY to purchase . But the miles are 26K I am thinkiing if I put on 5K - 7K miles I still have a like new bike with 38K miles after 2 years or if I like it that much I could trade it in in the spring and still get $8K for a trade in on a new FLHC ?
If you intend to only change pipes, air cleaner and add a fuel device
and
you have some simple tools, knowledge(service book/parts book),a place to work and the willingness to work on your bike
then
the evo would be the choice if you also want to save some money...
If all of the above do not match then i would walk away from the evo.

There is more than that to consider though, the 2010 bike is a far superior motorcycle.
i like my 98 flhpi with mm fuel injection.any bike you can HOP UP if you want to.each bike has its good points.yea i like to tinker with my bike but its because i want to not cuz i have to.just because its newer doesn't make it a far superior bike.not everyone has the coin to shell out for new.paying 8500 us for that 98 is a good deal in my opinion.if it turns out not to be the bike you want, you should have no problem getting your money back.i guess i'm bias but i have 97,700 miles on my bike.i bought it with 62,000 and its still going strong.any way you decide, good luck with your decision and take care.
Is the 2010 used or new? If it's a demo and has never been sold then you will get the full 2 year warranty. If it's used the warranty started when it was originally sold. What options are on the bike? I bought my 2010 EGC in December with ABS and Cruise for $19,500 and it was brand new. The MSRP is $18,999 with no options and black. If it's used then I would find out what the original delivery date was.
KCFLHTC THE BIKE comes with very little it is a Classic not the Ultra but I do not need 1/2 the stuff on the Ultra, no intercom no CB , I like tunes and the sweet sound of the V-Twin. I would go after the Street Glide but I think you get WAY more on the Classic and I like the Tour Pak which I can convert to Quick Remove with that kit. Almost can make it a SG and Quickly put it all back to original, don't you think for the money it is better to buy the Classic then the SG ??
