Any one running the Avon Venom 140/90-16 tire? I have a Dunlop Mu85-16 now. Will get 11,000 miles. If I push it. Have the Avon sitting in the shop. Ready to go on. I have said it before. The last Dunlop I will buy. Think I will stand behind it this time.
I've run the Avon's on a couple of bikes. Great tires. The Dunlop E3's are equal if not better in my book. Much cheaper, which is a deal breaker for me!
I ran the Avon Venom tires on my Valkyrie....much improvement
over the Dunlops.
I am perfectly happy with the stock Dunlops on my
R/G, so I haven't changed. Weird, huh ??
I ran Avon Venoms on my previous bike. Great performance, good tire milage (better than stock). You need to keep em pumped up to near max for best performance though in my opinion.
On the last set though..... i got sidewall cracking well before the tread was worn out. I suspect a batch with QC problems.
Ran 1 set of Venom X on my EGC and they gripped great and were quiet but only got 6000 miles...really should've changed them at 5k ...can't afford....9000 on D402...11k EIII now on a EII 491...got it for $30, just bought another for $40...
I'm running Avon Venom 140/90H16 on the rear and the Venom MT90H16 on the front. Love them over the original Dunlops that came on the 2004s. Don't know yet how much milage I'll get out of them, but others claim it will be less than the harder Dunlops.
