Default Looking for accessories to match my denim black bike

Since I started tearing my bike apart for other mods, I figured I would replace other parts on it to get rid of the chrome/polished look. These parts include:

- hand levers
- rear brake lever
- toe shifter
- mirrors
- shift linkage

Initially I wanted to go with the "edge cut" collection from HD, but I don't like how everything is anodized. I wanted the "edge cut" to match my contrast cut PM rims, but they are flat black. I did find some billet satin black pieces that will match (no contrast cut), but I'm having a tough time finding mirrors and a shift linkage to match. The shift linkage isn't that big of a deal since I could just powder coat it flat, but don't know if the mirrors can be taken apart to do the same.

Here are the mirrors I was looking at.

Aluminator collection

As you can see they match the billet brake lever.

Question is, can the mirrors be taken apart to have them coated black as they only come in chrome?

Another option I'm looking at is calling Performance Machine to see if I could get their accessories in the same matching finish as my rims with the contrast cut as well. That would be perfect, but damn expensive!

Any help?

The mirrors can be taken apart for powder coating or any fininsh you desire.
Remove the glass and loosen the screws that keep the ball tight.
Most of the time you will crack the mirror...just take it to a glass shop and have them cut a new mirror glass after you coat the 'hard parts'. You should be able to get either flat glass or convex.

How do you remove the glass? By cracking it?

No really, is there is a trick?

Try Covington's Cycle City, they have the edge cut but it is hard to tell if they black they use is flat or gloss.

Just about anything that is made for our bikes in chrome can be had in Black. Just have to scury the neighborhood and see what's out there. I plan on Blacking out some more on mine but still looking to see what's out there beforeI decide which way to go.One place to look is here if you haven't been there already.

The glass is just glued to the mirror head with some kind of foamy 'stuff'. Try using acetone to 'melt' it and then lift (pry) it off. I usually wind up cracking at least one (very little patience!). Your local glass and mirror shop can cut a replacement and reglue it for you. You might want to talk with them before you tackle removing the glass. They may have a more 'scientific' way of removing the glass.
