I agree.

I had one on my '08, sold it and I would never consider putting one on my '09.

Only thing I have heard is, EZ up and EZ down onto the ground if you are not careful. Never own one, again just what I have read here.

I have one and consider it my best add-on so far. It has never dragged in the Colorado Mtns or banged over bumps. I use it only in the garage and always leave the bike in gear to prevent rolling off the stand. The main reason I purchased this over the Harley centerstand is it ticks me off to pay Harley for something that should have came on the bike as standard equipment.

I had one on my 07 Road Glide and I had one installed on my 11 at Sturgis. I've been very happy with the stands although . . .

1. I only use it in my shop or on a level surface for cleaning or loading.
2. I always leave the bike in gear.
3. NEVER leave the bike idling on the stand.

I was given a strap for locking the front brake lever on which keeps the bike from rolling forward.

Another thing . . .

The new model for the 2009 and up bikes is narrower than previous models so the bike is less stable side to side.

I DO NOT us the stand for parking in lots, etc. I use it at home to save space in my shop and for working on my bike when it's not on the jack. I've never had my bike roll off the stand but it is possible.

On my Road Glides, the floorboards scrape before the stand.

JMTC.

I have yet to understand why anyone would want this thing on their bike. What am I missing?

Mine works fine with the J&S jack. Put the rear pad under the folded stand legs and put a 3/4" piece of wood on the front pad for the frame. J&S told me the stand legs are more than capable of bearing the weight and I've done it lots of times.

My bike is an '09 and I can climb onto the back seat without feeling like the bike is unstable. I've had this thing for two years and I think it's great. Don't really use it except in the garage and sometimes while fueling.

Main reason for getting mine (04, stock height) was because I park my bike in the garage in front of my car by NOT leaning the bike on the side stand - the bike takes up much less room when parked on the center stand and when cleaning the bike - its just easier.

never had a a drag issue..
