Default Just serviced and now a noise?

Hi guys and gals who like good stories. My bud who has logged many a mile on his Gold Wing, Valcra, (excuse the spell) and now his 2010 limited 103 Ultra Classic just returned from the shop with the completetion of his 5000 mile check up.

Said he doesn't know what is wrong but when he hits the front brake he gets a thumping noise that he said was not there before the service. I was standing beside his bike and ask him if it would do it standing still? He said "Ya usually"! I said well show me.

He proceded to push the front brakes up tight, rock the handlebars forward and sure enough there was the noise. I got down on all fours and stuck my head up under the triple tree and I said wait a minute, Now try it.

It had quit. He looked over the handlebars at me and across the windsheild and said "Is it that d*** demon bell?" I grinned and said duuu, yep and it has not done your front fender any good either. See the picture, we both had a good laugh and he felt a little on the sheepish side.
So, I guess watch where you hang them demon chasers.

Sure looks like there's plenty of clearance, even when you compress the brakes. My g/f watched it & said there was PLENTY of room, LOL.

I've seen this do a bunch of damage to people's nice shiny paint.

I'll bet he said this has never happen to his Goldwing.

(Why would you put it there anyway is beyond me)
