Had some work done at the dealer today and went to pay the bill and the service manager ask me if I wanted to use the 150 points I had built up since buying my SG in 08.
I ask him "what are points" and he tells me when you buy something at their dealership you acquire points.
I said well what does 150 points mean and he tell me it worth $150.00. And now my $250.00 bill just dropped down to $100.00.
Someone might have told me about this when I bought the bike, but I guess I didn't listen to them.
Anyway, It was a nice surprise.
Do all dealers have this point system?

My dealership uses the "Loyalty Card". Of course, I had to buy it for $10. I get 10% of my purchases added to the card and when it gets to $50 I can redeem it (to buy something else). Still, 10% off is good.
The local dealer about 10 min away from my house sent out discount club cards to everyone who bought anything from them. The card is good until Dec of 2011 and is for 20% all purchases of original Harley items. Includes aftermarket and non dealer logo'ed clothes. Pretty sweet deal. It comes out pretty even between them and the on-line dealers with their 20% off. (The tax and shipping are about even.) The only nice thing about the online dealers is the 20% off is on the stock parts as well. No one around here sells those at a discount.
i "earn" points through my HD Visa card, but nothing that is a dealer plan or program.... I get 1 "point" or dollar for every $100 spent on the credit card, double points at resteraunts and gas stations, and triple points for purchases at any HD Dealer..
When i purchased my 2010 SG i had enough "points" to cover the cost of my chrome front end kit.....pretty sweet...
I put as much as i can on the card.....can always use more "points"
My "Loyalty Points" after two bikes and 4 years of never cashing in points finally bought me the lowers on my bike... recently they just announced that they are doing away with the program. I'm glad I cashed out when I did.
got my $250.00 luggage from my dealer for $100.00 because i used up my points..they come in handy, but the dealer could just lower the prices and accomplish the same thing..the $100 i paid for the luggage was probably closer to what it should have costed to begin with.
