I went with the H4 Halogen 80/100W Osram/Sylvania from German Auto Parts (4th bulb down on chart). At $12.45 + shipping it's a really well kept secret. You must clip off the extra tab. Honestly, the bulb is for off road use but who cares since I can see at night and cars see me in the day. Buy this bulb and you'll never use another type. I know HD riders who have been using this bulb for years that turned me on to it. When you call to order tell them it's for a HD and they'll know what bulb your talking about. Get it!

I did that and also used the e-spec lamp housing. Not only is it far brighter, but it has a much better focus pattern due to the housing. $38 for the housing and $32 for a pair of bulbs (leaving you a spare) from Susquehanna Motorsports.

I replaced stock with Hella HLA-H83140171 H4 12V 100/80W Halogen Bulb Off Road Use from Amazon. Just plug it in no other changes needed, now my headlight is no longer dimmer than my spots.
I see the price went up some but Amazon's prices fluctuate often, I place items in my cart and wait for price reductions unless I need it ASAP

Well worth the money! The difference is amazing. It plugs directly in to the stock wireing. I haven't had a single problem it.

If it is an H4 why is there an extra tab to cut off??? Just curious.
