Default Winter approaching, do I "winterize" or wait.

I live and ride in NY. With Winter rapidly approaching, is it better to change all fluids before winter, and let the bike sit in my garage?
Or is it better to leave it alone, and change all fluids in Spring?

Last fluid change (in all holes), was last August 2009.

I currently have Syn3 in all holes.

Suggestions welcomed

I say wait. We'll have some days in October where you'll want to ride, rather than take that time to change all the fluids. Wait until you know you can't ride anymore then take your time, say mid Novemberish.

I usually wait until about the beginning of November before I go about changing fluids and storing the bike.

All I can say about riding at this time of year is watch those leaves. I almost ate it along Long Ridge Rd last year due to a pile of leaves right in the middle of the damn road.

Put stabilizer in the gas, hook up the battery tender, and wait till spring to change the oil and filter.

Personally, I think it is best to change all the fluids, wash and wax, fill the tank and stabil, battery tender, cover and let sit for the winter. Then it is ready to go in the spring. Condensation and whatnot build up from short trips so I like to change all the fluids. On the other hand, has anyone ever heard of an engine rusting inside or other such damage from not changing fluids prior to winter?

I also live in cny and have been thinking about the same thing. My plan is to wash, wax , hook up battery tender , fog the cylinders , stabilize the gas and change fluids in the spring

Maybe I should add that I intend to ride on the warmer days of winter > 40 degree

So I guess I should have asked if I should change the oil now, since the bike will sit for MOST of the winter.
Or should I put fresh oil for the "riding season" ?

I usually wait till sometime in December before I 'winterize' the bike. Usually Dec, Jan, and Feb are my months of little riding.

I never winterize...I am already to go in any dry winter weather. Just the battery charge hookup and stabilizer in the fuel. Just keep on my 5000 fluid changes. Electric gear makes riding in the winter possable...along with ABS!!
